The Norton Sound Clean Water Program aims to clean debris from the waterways and beaches of Norton Sound that may be Since that initial cleanup, NSEDC has cooperated with MCAF to remove marine debris from areas all around Norton Sound. As of 2010, almost 700,000 pounds of debris have been removed from area waterways. We have conducted cleanups in all of our member communities. Our focus is now shifting to returning to areas where more cleanup work is needed. In 2011, NSEDC will be conducting cleanups in Savoonga, Koyuk, Wales, Diomede and Nome.
