Name NSEDC’s new tender vessel

November 14, 2016 By NSEDC

A new tender vessel will be joining NSEDC’s Norton Sound Seafood Products fleet in June 2017, and we’d like your help in naming our newest addition.

The names of NSSP’s current vessels that support Norton Sound crab and salmon commercial fisheries are:

Paul C. Johnson
King Island
Besboro
Breakaway
Egavik
Norton Bay

The new vessel will measure 62 feet and will be able to transport 25,000 pounds of crab and 70,000 pounds of salmon.  Bay Weld Boats in Homer, Alaska, who built the T/V King Island, is constructing the vessel.

We would like to christen this vessel with a name that appropriately honors and represents the region and people which NSEDC proudly serves. Once the NSEDC Board of Directors has chosen a name, the name will be announced on the NSEDC website and painted on the new vessel.

If the name you submitted is selected, you will receive a sweatshirt with the vessel name.

Please submit your name suggestion by email to NSEDC Vessel Manager Karl Erickson at karl@nsedc.com.
